2015 Jiangxi Tourism (Shanghai) Sale “Shines” on Nanjing Road

On May 5, the Jiangxi Tourism Sale, which had just left Beijing’s Wangfujing, swiftly made its way to Shanghai’s Nanjing Road, kicking off a three-day 2015 Jiangxi Tourism (Shanghai) Sale.

 On-site: Visible Excitement

At the sale site, visitors crowded around each exhibition area, creating a vibrant scene that became a beautiful sight on Nanjing Road — known as “China’s No. 1 Commercial Street.” Tourists either scanned QR codes to join the WeChat “Shake” event, inquired with staff about detailed information on sale tour routes, or stopped to admire exquisite picture panels. It was a lively and bustling scene. Twenty-four local Jiangxi travel agencies offered 39 premium Jiangxi tour packages for on-site visitors to choose from, while nearly 60 key scenic spots in Jiangxi provided residents from Shanghai, Zhejiang, and Jiangsu with discounted tickets at a minimum of 40% off. In addition, the Provincial Tourism Development Commission also attracted active participation from on-site visitors through the official WeChat event “Fan Rally: Win Free Tickets.”

    Online: Visible Brilliance

The lively atmosphere on-site was just one highlight of this Shanghai event. According to the Provincial Tourism Development Commission, the biggest highlight was integrating the sale with “Internet+” by leveraging a mature B2B platform from a tourism e-commerce operator. The commission organized Jiangxi local travel agencies to input their discounted tour product information into the B2B platform of the Shanghai Tourism Resources Trading Center, making it directly available for purchase by nearly 6,000 group travel agencies or independent outlets from Shanghai, Jiangsu, and Zhejiang. This approach reached all 6,000 group agencies in one go, changing the previous situation where purchasing products required “visiting each one individually,” thereby expanding the sales reach and enhancing the effectiveness of the sale. At the same time, the transaction data collected during this sale formed a big data resource on Jiangxi’s tourism source market. These data accurately reflect the market development level of different tourism products and the customer acquisition capacity of various travel agencies, enabling the analysis of market expansion methods and pathways and laying a solid foundation for precise marketing targeting source markets.
