Huang Zi Jiao leads the Year of the Rat with heart and a giant pink rat lantern

To celebrate the 2020 Gengzi Year of the Metal Rat, Shin Kong Mitsukoshi launched the “Heart Has Its Rat” 2020 Rat Year Lantern Festival touring exhibition. This year, Huang Zi Jiao was specially invited to serve as the chief curator. The exhibition tour includes Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Taipei Xinyi New World, Taichung Zhonggang Store, and Kaohsiung Zuoying Store.

The 2020 Rat Year Lantern Festival by Shin Kong Mitsukoshi features two major lantern zones: “Heart Has Its Rat” and “Wishes for the Rat.” The main lantern of “Heart Has Its Rat” is designed based on the pink fortune rat sculpture inspired by the work of international master sculptor Hong Yi.

The main lantern area “Heart Has Its Rat” is located at the Fragrant Terrace Plaza in Taipei Xinyi New World, symbolizing the rolling in of good fortune and abundant wealth. The 6-meter-tall pink fortune rat lantern transforms into a heartwarming light and sound show every half hour from 5 PM to 10 PM, illuminated by soft pink lights and accompanied by music.

In the “Wishes for the Rat” Art Avenue section, Chief Curator Huang Zi Jiao gathered renowned artists from various fields as well as celebrities such as G.E.M., Rainie Yang, and A-Lin to join the celebration.
