Rose Galaxy X Container Market at the 2018 New Taipei City Christmasland

The annual “New Taipei City Christmasland” officially opened on November 16, with four spectacular light zones, Taiwan’s largest projection mapping, and a themed container market this year.

This year, the light zone has extended to the area around Banqiao MRT Station for the first time, creating a galaxy-like track that feels like being in the universe. Custom rose-gold star lights have also been added to enhance the romantic Christmas atmosphere in New Taipei City at night.

The most famous attraction of New Taipei City Christmasland — “Taiwan’s Largest Projection Mapping Show” — brings a unique innovation this year. For the first time, 900 RGB LED individually controlled tubes have been installed along the second-floor corridor structure of the city government building, utilizing the latest generation lighting control system from German Madrix, the same level used in the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics.

This system enables precise single-point image control, with each tube capable of displaying 256 colors. Covering an area of 62 square meters, it closely connects the city government building and the Christmas tree with the Civic Plaza at the center, forming a giant circular screen. The 3D projection mapping dances in sync with the LED flowing light corridor, reaching the pinnacle of light art.

Paired with futuristic, beautifully lit decorations, a space-themed container market, as well as two free amusement facilities: the “Time Slide” and the “Starry Unicorn.”
