National Brother-in-Law Akira Takes the Stage: Taipei Lantern Festival Lineup Revealed

The 2020 Taipei Lantern Festival kicks off on February 8th, the Lantern Festival, in both the eastern and western districts of Taipei City. On the opening day, the main stage at the West Gate performance area has specially invited “National Brother-in-Law” EXILE AKIRA to be a performing guest. He will lead dancers from EXPG STUDIO TAIPEI and the future-forward training group MAGMA to perform together at the Taipei Lantern Festival opening ceremony.

EXILE AKIRA is one of the key members of Japan’s famous singing and dancing group EXILE, and after marrying Taiwan’s goddess “Xianglin Sister” Lin Chi-ling last year, he became the “National Brother-in-Law” of Taiwan. This time, the Taipei Lantern Festival has specially invited him to perform at the opening ceremony as the festival’s opening act.

Also performing on the same stage was the training group MAGMA from EXPG STUDIO TAIPEI, a vocal and dance group composed of two lead vocalists, SEAN and ALAN, and four dancers, MT, JUN, ANDY, and RICH. The group began performing publicly in 2016. In addition to various performance experiences in Taiwan, the two lead vocalists, SEAN and ALAN, traveled to Japan in 2017 to participate in the singing competition “EXILE Presents VOCAL BATTLE AUDITION 5,” where they stood out from 30,000 contestants and advanced to the final round.

The four dancers have been involved for several consecutive years as backup performers in the concert tours of well-known Japanese artists such as EXILE and the third-generation J Soul Brothers. They also served as backup dancers for the Taiwan concerts of GENERATIONS and the third-generation J Soul Brothers’ lead vocalist, HIROOMI TOSAKA.
