Urbanites under daily work pressure often have to wait for weekends or holidays to truly relax. But if you can take a day off or play hooky, set aside that mountain of work, and indulge yourself just once, why not take a super relaxing North Coast day trip.

1. Jinshan Shitou Mountain Park
Start your morning at Shitou Mountain Park, where you can enjoy the sea breeze and gaze out at the ocean. With a perfect vantage point for ocean views, well-maintained walking paths lined with shady trees, and stunning scenery, follow the trail to the northernmost tip of Jinshan Cape to be greeted by a golden seascape that lifts your spirits.

2. Jinshan Golden Bay Hot Springs
After taking in the ocean view, unwind your mind and body with a soak. Golden Bay Hot Springs in the Jinshan area is the only submarine hot spring facility. The resort features luxurious hot spring villas and outdoor spa pools. While enjoying the seawater hot springs, you can also take in the breathtaking sea views and listen to the soothing sounds of the waves.

3. Keelung Back Mountain Seascape Café
After your soak, enjoy a small hot pot and a cup of coffee for some well-deserved relaxation. Located in Keelung Harbor, the Back Mountain Seascape Café is a small wooden house designed in a blue-and-white Greek style. It serves coffee and light meals, including mini hot pots, while offering sweeping views of Keelung Harbor — charming both day and night.

4. Ruifang Jinguashi Shrine
Spend the afternoon connecting with nature by hiking. The Jinguashi Shrine is accessible through the Gold Museum and features a roughly 600-meter trail. Built during the Japanese colonial period to comfort workers mining the area, the shrine remains with its eerie arrangement of pillars and stone lanterns — creating a fantasy-novel-like atmosphere and making it a must-photo spot in Jinguashi.
