The world’s leading design, master planning, development, and production team for large-scale integrated resorts and leisure destination theme parks, Goddard Group, adds another grand project to its portfolio — the new $3.2 billion resort, Studio City — which will open on October 27, 2015. As the lead design firm, Goddard Group, together with architecture firm Leigh&Orange, has created a resort built to stand the test of time.

Studio City International Holdings Limited, led by Mr. Lawrence Ho, selected Gary Goddard and his company, Gary Goddard Entertainment (a division of the Goddard Group), to provide master planning and façade design concepts for this cinema-themed entertainment resort in Macao, Studio City.

The $3.2 billion Studio City complex, inspired by Hollywood, brings together thrilling entertainment experiences that transport visitors into a colorful world of cinema, establishing this new resort as the entertainment capital of Asia.

Mr. Goddard said: “We shared a very strong vision with the management of Studio City regarding Hollywood and the world of film. As a result, our collaboration has been highly effective, resulting in one of the most exciting, dynamic, and architecturally stunning integrated resorts in Macao and even the world to date. With its art deco towers and the breathtaking ‘Golden Reel’ at the heart of the complex, we are confident that Studio City will quickly become a new iconic landmark in Macao upon its official opening. Its unforgettable new image will appear in newspapers, blogs, social media, and TV news around the globe, capturing the imagination of audiences worldwide.”

The design of Studio City originates from Mr. Lawrence Ho’s vision to create a cinema-themed resort. Working closely with Mr. Ho, Goddard has ensured that Studio City is truly unique, unlike any other building in Macao, Hong Kong, or even globally. This multi-billion-dollar project features 1,600 guest rooms and is set to rapidly become Macao’s newest must-see and must-experience iconic playground. Goddard said: “The design of Studio City is stunning, and we believe it will not only attract visitors to Macao but also draw tourists from Hong Kong and other cities in China who may not have originally planned to visit Macao.”

Studio City will deliver an extraordinary “next generation” leisure destination experience, positioning Macao as a true international tourism hub. Strategically located in Cotai, near the Lotus Bridge checkpoint (which will be connected to Hengqin Island via the Macao Light Rapid Transit, LRT), Studio City offers more world-class entertainment options compared to other integrated resorts in Macao.

GARY GODDARD founded GODDARD GROUP in Los Angeles in 2002, with its headquarters located in Hollywood. In just nine years, the company has rapidly become one of the most successful independent entertainment design firms in the market today.
