Visits & Upgrades: Chongli Ski Resorts Lure Early Visitors
Yesterday afternoon, reporters visiting Wanlong Ski Resort in Chongli County saw that the parking lot was already full. “It was packed before noon,” said a parking attendant.
Reporters learned from Wanlong Ski Resort that since the heavy snow fell over the weekend, it created excellent conditions for weekend skiing. “Skiers flock here as soon as the resort opens. To ensure there’s no snow accumulation on the way up the mountain, we started clearing the paths at four or five in the morning to guarantee visitors’ safe arrival,” said an on-site staff member.
Wanlong Ski ResortThanks to its location and facilities, it has attracted many skiing enthusiasts. A relevant manager at Wanlong stated that this year the resort opened a week earlier than usual and is the first ski resort in the country to do so.
The manager told reporters that since last year, the number of skiing enthusiasts has surged significantly, prompting the resort to carry out various upgrades. For example, 120 SUFAG snow cannons imported from Austria were added to provide powder snow similar to natural conditions. Two new snow groomers were introduced to maintain the quality of the slopes this winter. Additionally, a new trail named Xianglong (Auspicious Dragon) — also referred to as the "Maogo Trail" — was added. Moreover, 600 sets of top-tier ski equipment from six different brands were introduced, along with nearly 400 new instructors.
Parking and dining are also concerns for many visitors. According to reports from the site, this year 2,000 more guest seats have been added, and the second-floor restaurant has increased seating by 1,500. There is also a new two-story indoorunderground parking lot, along withWanlongApartments’ indoor parking lot, which offers 190 spaces, bringing the total number of indoor parking spots to 500.
In addition, reporters learned from relevant departments in Chongli County that Genting Ski Resort is set to open before the end of the month. Currently, the resort is making preparations and conducting trial snowmaking based on weather and humidity conditions. If conditions are suitable, it will open before the month’s end.

Located in Miyun,YunfoshanSki Resort began trial snowmaking yesterday afternoon and will open as soon as conditions are suitable. “Snowmaking depends on the right weather, and now that temperatures are low enough, we’ve started trial runs,” said a manager at Yunfoshan Ski Resort.
The manager stated that the resort is expected to open as early as next week. There will also be price discounts.
