Jon Otto (Zeng Shan), American mountaineer and principal of Chengdu Leading Climbing School, leader of this Kailas ice climbing event, explained the details of the event to the guests, which included:beginner ice climbing, ice wall rescue demonstrations and simulations, wilderness first aid training, dry tooling training and experience, how to lead climb ice walls, and a series of high-altitude outdoor activities.Additionally, Kailas stores nationwide will offer customers who purchase the "Extreme Cold Package" a chance to participate in ice climbing for free.
At the conference, Mr. Zhu Zhaohui, representative of the Kailas brand, introduced the Kailas Climbing System to the guests. This system is the collective name for Kailas’s resource-integrated marketing platform and represents the essence of years of accumulated climbing projects. The "Kailas Climbing System" consists of five modules: Physical Training, Outdoor Survival Training, Rock Training, Extreme Climbing, and Recovery & Rest, each representing stages in the climbing process as well as corresponding Kailas product lines. It systematically structures the entire training journey for ordinary outdoor enthusiasts — from zero foundation to high-altitude climbing capability — into five phases. Through planned training, it helps everyday people grow into professional climbers.

Physical Training:focuses on building the foundational fitness of mountaineers, with events such as the Hong Kong 100 and Siguniang Mountain Trail Running serving as peak challenges. Trail running is the best way for climbers to build a fitness base. Due to varying altitudes and terrains, it offers extremely diverse levels of training difficulty and intensity — which is ideal for helping climbers gain sufficient adaptive climbing experience during their initial fitness buildup.
Outdoor Survival:training emphasizes the technical operation of outdoor gear and the adaptability to outdoor environments. It utilizes outdoor skill training programs centered around Leading Climbing School, Outdoor Coaches Growth Program, and COACH-K to help more outdoor enthusiasts enhance their survival abilities.
Rock Training:is essential advanced skill training for mountaineers. Centered around the annual Kailas Bouldering Competition, “Find Rock China,” and the Yangshuo Rock Climbing Festival, it integrates traditional indoor fitness programs into a new system. During complex climbing journeys, climbers often encounter rock wall sections that require climbing skills to pass. Thus, one's climbing skill level also determines overall climbing capability.
Extreme Climbing:encompasses the comprehensive application of ice climbing, rock climbing, and mountaineering. It serves as a touchstone to evaluate whether climbers can handle complex and varied climbing environments. Kailas is dedicated to promoting grassroots mountaineering and has created top-tier climbing platforms such as the “Unclimbed Peaks Project” and the “14 Peaks Over 8000 Meters Climbing Project.”
Recovery & Rest:comes after completing high-intensity and high-risk climbs. Many climbers experience a sudden mental relaxation afterward. This phase helps rapidly restore both physical function and psychological state, minimizing the physical and mental toll of strenuous climbing activities. Its recovery-focused training program, mainly involving multidimensional static exercises, is a new approach in the field of professional climbing.
“The "Kailas Climbing System" is a comprehensive outdoor sports platform. Each component is built around different sports, providing high-quality athletic resources for outdoor enthusiasts. This marks another major initiative by Kailas — following its strategic partnerships with the International Climbing Federation and the Chinese National Climbing Team — to advance the climbing movement.
