Not just Mitsui Outlet Mall Taiyuan ! The 67,000-square-meter LaLaport Comes to Taiwan

After the grand opening of Mitsui Outlet Mall Taiyuan at Taichung Port, Japanese real estate giant Mitsui Fudosan Group has officially announced the development plan for the LaLaport shopping center. The mall will be located in East District, Taichung, and is expected to open in 2023, making it the second LaLaport in Taiwan after Taipei Nangang.

Mitsui Shopping Park LaLaport Taichung is situated next to the Taiwan Sugar Lakefront Ecological Park in East District, Taichung City. It is just a six-minute walk from Taichung Railway Station, and the surrounding five-kilometer radius is bustling with commercial activity. Within a 30-minute drive, nearly the entire Taichung metropolitan area is accessible.

In the future, the mall will be divided into two zones across two buildings, featuring approximately 250 retail outlets. It will be Taichung’s first authentic regional-scale shopping center, and is expected to include international fashion brands, popular local and international queue-worthy dining options, lifestyle consumer goods, and large-scale entertainment facilities. The development aims to offer consumers a new lifestyle concept where they can enjoy a full day of leisure.

LaLaport Shopping Center is adjacent to the Taiwan Sugar Ecological Lakefront Park. In addition to preserving the historically significant old Taiwan Sugar Refinery, the area has been transformed into a modern-historical landscape park through natural and water-themed renovations, becoming a new green space. It is hoped that it will help drive foot traffic to the surrounding neighborhoods in the future.
