To provide travelers with more diverse and user-friendly ticketing services, Taiwan High Speed Rail has, for the first time among domestic public transport operators, introduced the “Messenger Smart Ticketing” service on Facebook Messenger. Starting today, passengers can complete train ticket bookings through the Messenger instant messaging app and their mobile phone’s voice or text input—effortlessly completing the process via casual conversation. The service also allows users to check reservation records and inquire about ticketing issues, offering on-demand assistance anytime, anywhere, just like having a personal booking assistant.

The “Messenger Smart Ticketing” service can be used to book trains up to one hour before departure on the day of travel. When using THSR’s “Messenger Smart Ticketing” service, passengers should first log in to their Facebook account, search for “Taiwan High Speed Rail” on Messenger, and open the chat window. They can then directly input their booking needs via voice or text. The system will guide users step-by-step to search for available trains, complete the booking, and finalize payment and ticket retrieval through the “T Express” mobile ticketing app.

In addition to booking functionality, the “Messenger Smart Ticketing” service also enables passengers to ask questions about tickets directly via voice or text, receiving real-time online answers. At this stage, the “Messenger Smart Ticketing” service only provides responses to common ticketing queries. For other questions, passengers may contact THSR’s customer service hotline or visit the “Contact Us” page on the company’s official website.

Taiwan High Speed Rail marks its 13th year of operation. Initially, tickets were only available at station counters and ticket vending machines. As the company continues to leverage smart transportation technology, it has successively introduced online booking systems, convenience store ticketing, and the “T Express” mobile ticketing app, offering passengers more convenient ticketing options.

Taiwan High Speed Rail’s “Messenger Smart Ticketing” service is the first initiative by a domestic public transport operator to offer booking services on an instant messaging platform, marking a new attempt by the rail company and providing passengers with a more lifestyle-aligned ticketing choice.
