After a 6-hour flight and a 4-hour drive, Takeshi Kaneshiro and his team arrived in Kanchanaburi, Thailand, where they completed filming in under 12 hours. As the area was off-season for tourism, the actor enjoyed a relaxing stay at his hotel—sunbathing, swimming, and dining on simple local rice noodle soup for all three meals.

Kanchanaburi is best known for the historic WWII monument, the Bridge on the River Kwai. Built during Japan’s occupation of Burma, this railway connected Bangkok and Yangon and crossed the Kwai River at this very bridge. Beyond its rich wartime history, the bridge was also featured in a classic Hollywood film, making it a renowned attraction—even though many people don’t realize it’s located in Thailand.
