The cellar-cave style accommodation is going viral—stunning even from the outside

Taichung Commercial Travel Group’s new 2019 lodging project, “Birdman Creative Hotel,” officially opened in Beitun on March 29. With an investment of 300 million NTD and design input from five designers, the hotel not only impresses from the exterior but also features creatively designed room types that have sparked considerable buzz right after opening, surpassing previous expectations of a typical motel.

The exterior of Birdman Creative Hotel features welded steel plates forming a three-dimensional geometric shape, resembling a metallic bird’s nest full of design flair. When night falls and the lights come on, it’s impossible to ignore even if you’re just passing by.

Even during its trial operation period, Birdman Creative Hotel attracted significant interest due to its fresh and playful room design styles. Especially popular was its rare cellar-style room in Taiwan. Aside from the bed, descending the spiral staircase reveals walls lined with mud-colored bricks, and stepping into the bathroom feels like entering an underground chamber from the Middle Ages—an alternative, mysterious allure.

Additionally, the cave room type has also sparked a wave of discussion. Surrounded by massive stone and mud walls, it offers the feeling of living in a cave and experiencing the primitive life of a caveman, which has become very popular among young people who love to check in and try new things.
