Coinciding with the Qingming holiday, many of this week’s new releases hit theaters starting April 3, the day before the break began. Alongside popular titles from the previous week like Dumbo, moviegoers have plenty to look forward to during the vacation.

We all have a superhero inside us — we just need the magic word to bring him out. For Billy Batson (played by Asher Angel), a smart-mouthed 14-year-old foster kid who’s been hustling on the streets, all it takes is shouting one word — “Shazam!” — to be transformed, with the help of an ancient wizard, into a full-grown superhero (Zachary Levi). With a godlike physique packed with muscles but the heart of a kid, this adult version of Shazam does what any superpowered teen would do: have the time of his life. Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning bolts from his hands? Can he skip his civics class test? Shazam is like a cocky, reckless kid testing the limits of his newfound powers.
