1.Jianqing Nostalgia Trail
 
Taipingshan was once a hub for forestry, with many forest railways built around the mountains to transport timber. The Jianqing Nostalgia Trail is a relic of that logging history. Compared to other railway lines and cable cars from the same era—most of which have since disappeared into the mountains—the preserved Jianqing Nostalgia Railway is like a time capsule, allowing today’s travelers to reminisce about the heyday of Taipingshan’s forestry industry.

2.Daban Gen Forest
 
Located in Sanxia, New Taipei City, Daban Gen Forest spans 20 hectares and is the only remaining low-altitude pristine tropical rainforest in Taiwan. Its natural ecology is exceptionally well-preserved, featuring century-old, national-treasure-level buttress-root plants. The forest is home to nearly 500 plant species, over 4,000 insect species, and more than 30 types of birds—including dinosaur-era ferns and the eight-color bird, a species under global conservation. It’s truly a treasure trove of primeval tropical rainforest ecology.

3.Nanzixing Trail
 
The Nanzixing Trail is located near Nanya Fishing Port. Though it doesn’t reach even 200 meters in height, it offers a 360-degree panoramic view, allowing visitors to enjoy the magnificent mountain-and-sea scenery without even reaching the summit. Along the trail, there’s a fork leading to the cliff-surrounded peak of Nanzilin East, where you can take in the stunning views of Nanya’s unique rocky coastline.

4.Guanyin Caoluo Sand Dunes
 
The Caoluo Sand Dunes are located along the coast of Guanyin in Taoyuan, stretching over 8 kilometers. The fine, soft sand forms wave-like patterns as the wind blows over it. Walking barefoot on the warm, loose sands feels like stepping into another world—a fantastical and desolate scene seemingly untouched by time. Behind the dunes lies an endless stretch of beach and ocean, with a row of over 10 giant wind turbines slowly turning in the breeze, creating a uniquely picturesque landscape.
