The period between April and May each year is when fireflies are most abundant in Zhoutengkeng Creek, with their numbers so great they resemble stars on the ground—an enchanting sight. Due to the water supply from Zhoutengkeng and Anyingkeng Creeks, the mountain's primeval forests remain intact, supporting rich natural ecology. Nearby leisure farms also host various firefly-themed events during this time.
