Taiwan’s first American-style OUTLET, Huatai Premium Outlets, announced that the third phase of the mall officially opened on May 8, 2019. The new mall features many highlights, including Taiwan’s only Burberry Outlet, as well as the arrival of Shaw Theatres and Yitel Hotel. The biggest highlight is that Yokohama’s Hakkeijima Sea Paradise Aquarium from Japan will also open its first overseas branch at the premium outlets, which will become the largest aquarium in northern Taiwan.

Since announcing its arrival in Taiwan in 2017, the aquarium has been under construction and is now expected to open in the first half of 2020. Covering an area of 4,500 ping, the aquarium will have three floors above ground and two underground levels. In addition to incorporating the world’s most advanced imaging technology and interactive installations, it will also showcase a variety of ecosystems from Taiwan and around the globe, creating a large-scale urban aquarium — something many are eagerly anticipating.

Huatai Premium Outlets opened at the end of 2015, with its second phase opening in 2016. The third phase officially opened in May 2019, adding 120 new stores, including 62 exclusive brands making their first appearance in Taiwan. With a total of 285 stores, Huatai Premium Outlets has become Taiwan’s largest OUTLET.
