Hollyhocks are blooming in the north too — vibrant blooms that have pedestrians snapping photos!

Also known as "One-Zhang Red," hollyhocks are a highlight of the flower season from March to April. While many travelers venture to Taichung or Tainan to see their dazzling colors, there are also hollyhock viewing spots in the north — tucked away right in the city!

With a predominance of pink hues and bold, vibrant colors, these hollyhocks can grow up to 1–2 meters tall — even taller than people — making them a real eye-catcher!

Recently, a blooming patch of hollyhocks has popped up near Taipei Metro Shilin Station. Though not very large, these swaying blossoms by a busy road add a touch of charm to the urban landscape.

These lovely and captivating hollyhocks were actually planted by the neighborhood chief of Fulin Li in Shilin District. Their bright and delicate beauty has drawn pedestrians to stop and take photos.
