Premier Su Tseng-chang stated on April 26 that starting in 2020, the Lunar New Year consecutive holidays will consist of at least 7 days, beginning one day before New Year’s Eve, making it more convenient for people to plan their trips and easing traffic congestion. This article also compiles the number of vacation days and dates for 2020—be sure to jot them down and plan your travels early !

In 2020, there are expected to be 115 days off, and the number of consecutive holidays has increased by one compared to 2019, with a total of 7 holidays lasting three days or more. These include a 7-day Lunar New Year holiday, a 3-day 228 Peace Memorial Day holiday, a 4-day Qingming holiday, a 3-day Labor Day holiday, a 4-day Dragon Boat Festival holiday, a 4-day Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, and a 3-day Double Ten National Day holiday.

The 2020 Lunar New Year consecutive holiday lasts 7 days, making it ideal for traveling farther or taking longer vacations. By taking just 2 additional days of annual leave, you can extend the break to 11 days. The Qingming Festival and Mid-Autumn Festival holidays can be extended to 9 days with 3 days of annual leave. Additionally, the New Year’s Day holiday can be turned into a 5-day break with 2 days of annual leave. Also note that Saturday, January 11 is the presidential election voting day, while Saturdays, June 20 and September 26 are make-up workdays for the Dragon Boat Festival and Mid-Autumn Festival holidays, respectively.
