Hugh Jackman lends his voice to The Adventure League – the wildest adventure story spanning five continents!

From the Oscar-nominated Laika Animation Studio behind Kubo and the Two Strings comes the year’s most joyful adventure epic, The Adventure League. Featuring Hollywood superstar Hugh Jackman, Zach Galifianakis from The Hangover, Zoe Saldana from Guardians of the Galaxy, and Oscar-winning actress Emma Thompson, this star-studded voice cast has taken the U.S. by storm. The film earned an impressive box office of $12.76 million (approximately NT$400 million) in just 10 days after its U.S. release, and is now hitting Taiwanese theaters on May 3.

The Adventure League brings together two popular Marvel characters — “Wolverine” Hugh Jackman and “Korg” Zoe Saldana — who cross over as an unlikely duo of adventurers exploring all five continents, sparking buzz with their fresh pairing. However, Zoe revealed that her real-life adventure partner is “Captain America” Chris Evans. The two are close friends like brothers and often share tales of past adventures on the set of The Avengers.

Hugh Jackman also mentioned seeing himself in his character, Sir Lionel. Sir Lionel dreams of becoming a great adventurer and is desperate to fit into the prestigious Adventurer’s Club. Having studied other subjects in university, Jackman recalled how he wasted three years trying to break into a circle that wasn’t meant for him, and was grateful he still had time to pursue his true passion.

Movie Synopsis:
Adventurer Sir Lionel Frost (voiced by Hugh Jackman) considers himself the world’s greatest finder of bizarre phenomena. One day, he receives a mysterious anonymous letter, which sets him off on an expedition to find a legendary monster. Trekking through the jungles of the Pacific Northwest in the U.S., he discovers a 244 cm tall, 295 kg prehistoric beast covered in fur — and capable of speaking. This creature goes by many names: some call him “the Yeti,” others “Bigfoot,” and some even “Mr. Link.” But his real name is Susan...

As an endangered species, Susan (voiced by Zach Galifianakis) feels lonely and asks Lionel to take her to faraway Shangri-La to find her distant relatives, the Abominable Snowmen. The only map leading there is in the hands of Lionel’s old friend Adelina (voiced by Zoe Saldana). And so, the utterly bizarre trio of Lionel, Susan, and Adelina sets off on a thrilling, laugh-packed journey across five continents!
