The world’s first Itō Junji-themed “Night of Frights” event — if you dare to join, be quick to grab your tickets

Fans of Itō Junji have definitely attended previous haunted house events, exhibitions, escape rooms, and other themed activities, but what’s this new event from Itō Junji? The world’s first “Itō Junji Night of Frights” themed fun run features a short 3 km super-spooky running route, five major challenge zones, a cosplay competition, a creepy market, and exclusive merchandise, allowing fans to run, play, and get scared all at once!

The “Itō Junji Night of Frights” kicks off on August 17th during Ghost Month, creating an unprecedented “fright” theme park dedicated to Itō Junji, where all the classic characters from his works will appear together for the first time. There will be over 20 creepy market stalls offering food, drinks, and entertainment.

The themed fun run course includes five major challenge zones. The first is a 50-meter-long interdimensional glowing tunnel, preparing fans to enter the eerie world of Itō Junji’s manga. The second zone features “Graveyard Scarecrows” that you absolutely must not make eye contact with. Next, runners will step into the “Abyss Fashion Avenue,” where Miss Abyss waits with her gaping mouth, searching for her next victim.

Then comes the “100% Grease BBQ Restaurant,” where you can drink oil to your heart’s content and guess whose meat you’re actually eating. Finally, reach the finish line to face the “Slug Curse” — beware of the slimy foam spray attack. Upon reaching the end, you’ll receive an “Abyss Blood-Mouth Medal” bottle opener. After all the scares, unwind with a beer to calm your nerves.
