Every August, Sixty Stone Mountain in Hualien has been travelers’ top choice for viewing golden fields of daylilies, but now you don’t have to head all the way to eastern Taiwan—right here in central Taiwan, you can enjoy Changhua’s version of Sixty Stone Mountain, a breathtaking angelic floral carpet.

The new sea of daylilies located at Hu Shan Yan in Huatan Township, Changhua County, is a newly popular floral attraction. Currently in peak bloom season, the scenery is truly enchanting.

Huatan Township is known as the hometown of jasmine, and over 30,000 daylily plants have been planted on the hillsides near the county-designated historic site Hu Shan Yan, painting the mountaintops bright yellow in late spring and early summer.

Thanks to the efforts of local residents in Huatan Township, the hillsides of Hu Shan Yan have been beautifully decorated—with well-planned flower-viewing paths and romantic, picturesque heart-shaped photo installations that allow travelers to immerse themselves in this stunning summer sea of flowers.

Visitors coming to admire the flowers shouldn’t miss trying the locally famous Huatan Township chicken dishes and stir-fried wild vegetables. This weekend, bring your family for a visit to Huatan in Changhua.
