1.Shenzhao Mountain Tung Blossom Trail
 
The Shenzhao Mountain Trail, not particularly high in altitude, features lush greenery that makes it a favorite hiking route for locals. During the tung blossom season, the white flowers along the mountain path enhance the scenic beauty of the woods, while the glowing fireflies at night bring delightful surprises to travelers.

2.Shaotanwo Trail
 
Located next to the Shaotanwo Cultural Museum in Qionglin, Hsinchu, this beautiful path becomes a sight to behold every spring and summer. In addition to the mountains covered in tung blossoms, as soon as it gets dark, magical starlight appears. With a bit of luck, you might even be surrounded by swarms of fireflies—the unforgettable view of hills and valleys filled with glowing insects is truly breathtaking.

3.Shuilian Bridge Trail
 
Fanyin Temple in Emei, Hsinchu, is nestled in the mountains with excellent ecological surroundings—lush trees and flowing water create an ideal habitat for fireflies. It’s a stunning sight that travelers chasing fireflies shouldn’t miss in the summer.

4.Yongda Mine Ruins
 
The Yongda Mine Ruins, located on the midstream banks of the Sansia River, are now overgrown ruins. However, the halt in coal mining has allowed the surrounding ecology to recover, resulting in the magical sight of a “river of fireflies” every summer night. Paired with the remnants of the mine site, it offers a unique charm.
