Since entering the Taiwanese market in 2014, the globally renowned cruise brand Princess Cruises topped the cruise brand favorability poll in the 2018 Market Intelligence Research survey, becoming the most desired cruise brand among Taiwanese.

Within just five years from 2014 to 2018, Princess Cruises saw a 6.5-fold increase in sailings and a nearly 10-fold surge in passenger load factor.

This also led to Princess Cruises Global President Jan Swartz visiting Taiwan for the third time, where she, along with Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations for the Asia-Pacific region Stuart Allison, announced the 2020 latest deployment plan for the Taiwanese home port: the luxury cruise ship Majestic Princess, built specifically for Asia, will be based in Keelung next year for six months of service. It is expected that the Majestic Princess will be seen at Keelung Port from March to August next year.

In 2018, Princess Cruises deployed three cruise ships in Keelung Port for the first time, making Taiwan the brand’s largest source market in Asia and third-largest globally in one fell swoop. The average daily passenger volume at Keelung Port was also the highest thanks to Princess Cruises.

Princess Cruises plans to launch five new ships within the next six years, including the upcoming Sky Princess set to debut in October this year, the Enchanted Princess scheduled for completion in June 2020, an unnamed third flagship cruise ship, as well as two liquefied natural gas-powered cruise ships joining the fleet.

In addition, wearable devices (Ocean Medallion), unique in the world, will also be added on five cruise ships: Regal Princess, Royal Princess, Caribbean Princess, Crown Princess, and Sky Princess, using high-tech solutions to offer passengers a more comfortable and relaxing vacation experience.
