1.Star identification
 
Before shooting the starry sky, photographers must learn basic star identification. Due to Earth’s rotation, the positions of stars shift with the seasons and time. Except for the North Star, if you want to capture concentric circular star trails, aim your lens at the North Star for a long exposure. Different exposure times will affect the length of the star trails in the image.

2.Equipment preparation
 
Shooting the starry sky requires long exposure, and any vibration can affect the results. It’s recommended to prepare photography gear such as a tripod and shutter release cable to help achieve clear and sharp images. Since the exposure time is long, battery life is especially important—bring as many backups as possible.

3.Shooting location
 
To photograph the starry sky, choose a location free from light pollution, and consider the local terrain and landscape. It’s best to scout the shooting spot during the day in advance and find a stable place to set up your tripod.
