Located along Provincial Highway 16 near Sun Moon Lake, between Mingjian and Jiji, are rows of large camphor trees with lush foliage. Stretching 4.8 kilometers in total, today they’re shaded by green leaves and enveloped in mist. As trains run parallel to this tree-lined green tunnel, the beautiful scenery of camphor forests and mountain streams outside the window flows backward, creating a sense of comfort, relaxation, and an overwhelming sea of green.

Situated in Qingjing Farm, where the four seasons are distinct and the altitude is 1,700 meters, the manor-style guesthouse Old England features Tudor architecture. It retains the towers of Gothic buildings while also incorporating Renaissance architectural elements — such as a centrally projecting section with symmetrical sides. Tudor characteristics include prominent cross frameworks, two to three large chimneys, decorative moldings, and walls made of brick, stone, and plaster. This unique wooden house is well worth a one-night stay for travelers.

The Dakeng Scenic Area in Beitun District, Taichung, is an important leisure spot for locals to go hiking and enjoy nature on holidays. It currently has 12 hiking trails, totaling about 15.6 kilometers in length, each with its own unique features and varying levels of difficulty. The trails that stretch along the mountain ridgeline seem to extend infinitely, requiring not only ample stamina but also courage. The full hike takes about two hours and is definitely worth experiencing to fully appreciate the beauty of nature.
