The Blessing of the Big Fish is a large-scale art installation measuring 23 meters in length, 10 meters in width, and 8 meters in height. Located in the Harbor History Park by Anping Harbor, the whale-shaped upper section is made of 3,714 stainless steel pipes welded together without using a single screw, preserving the purity of its flowing lines. The Taiwan-inspired interior features 634 stainless steel pipes welded together and inlaid with 448 pieces of colored glazed glass, forming a symbolic island figure representing inclusiveness and diversity. Visitors can also go upstairs into the “belly of the fish” to enjoy the sea view and sunset.

The “Canal Museum” was originally the Anping Customs of Tainan Canal, built during the Japanese colonial period. It served as the checkpoint for merchant ships entering and leaving Anping Harbor, where imported goods had to stop and pay customs duties. Over time, it fell into ruin but has now been restored to its former glory, adding a touch of classical beauty. The museum displays many old photos of the canal and ship models. Surrounding the Canal Museum is a beautiful garden with old banyan trees and greenery, along with wooden boardwalks built along the river, providing visitors with the perfect place to relax!

Covering an area of over 3 hectares, Yizai Jincheng was designed by French engineers. Architecturally, it is a square Western-style bastion fort with protruding corners and a recessed center. The fort is surrounded by a moat, with large and small cannons placed on the battlements and a training ground in the center. The moat is filled with clear, flowing seawater teeming with fish, and features resident mallards and black swans. Lush trees surround the area, making it a great spot for outings, historical reflection, and relaxation!

Anping Fort (a first-class historic site), formerly known as “Fort Zeelandia,” is Taiwan’s oldest castle. It once served as the administrative center under Dutch rule and the residence of three generations of the Zheng family, and is now a popular tourist destination... Having witnessed over 300 years of change, this once mighty fortress is now a national first-class historic site. At Anping Fort, besides exploring its richly stocked exhibition rooms, you can also climb up to its iconic landmark — the lighthouse — for panoramic views of Annan District, Tainan City, and even the Taiwan Strait!
