Sanfeng Temple is located in Sanchong District, Kaohsiung City. Originally named Sanfeng Ting, it was built in 1673 AD and has a history of over 300 years.

The combination of lanterns and temple architecture makes you feel as if you’ve stepped back in time.
Sanfeng Temple mainly enshrines the Central Altar Marshal, also known as Nezha. It is not only a very famous Taoist sacred site in southern Taiwan but also the largest Nezha Temple in all of Taiwan. It’s a highly popular temple among locals in Kaohsiung.

Every angle is incredibly photogenic.
During the Lunar New Year, Sanfeng Temple strings up prayer lanterns to form an expansive sea of lanterns. From the second floor, you can see a vast sea of bright red lanterns complementing the temple’s roof beams and pillars, creating a breathtakingly beautiful scene that captivates visitors.

The second floor is the best spot to admire the sea of lanterns and take photos.
Travelers can take the side staircase up to the second-floor corridor. From left to right, any angle offers a view of the beauty of the lanterns and Sanfeng Temple.
