On Thursday and Friday, the southwest wind will have an impact, but moisture levels will be low. Most areas will be mostly cloudy to sunny, with only isolated brief showers along the central and southern coasts in the early morning. In the afternoon, there will be localized thunderstorms in the mountainous areas of the western half and the eastern half of the island. Daytime temperatures will be relatively high, with highs mostly between 33 and 35 degrees Celsius. Due to subsidence warming from the southwest wind passing over the mountains, there is a chance of foehn winds occurring in the southeastern regions. Please take care with crop maintenance. On Saturday (June 23), as a frontal system approaches, the western and northeastern parts of the island will see localized brief showers or thunderstorms. The Hualien-Taitung area will be mostly cloudy, with isolated thunderstorms in the mountains in the afternoon. On Sunday (June 23), under the influence of the frontal system, the weather will be quite unstable. Areas north of central Taiwan and the northeastern part of the island are prone to showers or thunderstorms, with a chance of localized heavy rain. On Monday and Tuesday (June 24 and 25), as the frontal system gradually moves away, moisture will remain high. The western half of Taiwan will see brief showers, and the eastern half will also experience localized brief showers.
Environmental Protection Administration Air Quality Forecast Information: On the 19th, most areas will be mostly cloudy to sunny, with daytime temperatures still high. Only isolated brief showers are expected along the central and southern coasts in the early morning, while the western mountainous areas and eastern regions may also see isolated brief thunderstorms in the afternoon. The environmental wind field will be dominated by the southwest wind, with weak wind speeds in the early morning and at night, leading to potential pollutant accumulation. Some areas in the western half may briefly reach a “moderate” air quality level, and the impact of photochemical reactions in the afternoon may cause ozone concentrations to rise. The air quality in the Zhubei, Miaoli, Central, Yunlin-Kaohsiung-Pingtung, Hengchun, Yilan, and Hualien-Taitung air quality zones, as well as Penghu, will be “good.” The Northern air quality zone and the Kinmen and Matsu areas will be “moderate,” with the northern region being in a downwind position, resulting in slightly poorer dispersion conditions. Localized short-term “orange” advisory levels may occur in some areas.
