Swinging is a nostalgic childhood memory for everyone. Beyond the ordinary park swings, various parts of Taiwan have created numerous unique swing installations. Below are six swing scenes, ranging from dreamy styles to land art—travelers should definitely add these to their itineraries.

1.Xinshe Rice Terraces
 
In addition to its breathtaking scenery, Hualien also features many distinctive installation artworks. The land art “Happiness on the Land” at Xinshe Rice Terraces is crafted using soil, straw, and rice husks, blending elements of oceanic octopuses and sprouting plants. It symbolizes the abundant resources provided by the sea and land, while echoing the comforting feeling of this natural landscape.

2.Houhou Community
 
On the shores of Yilan, driftwood often washes ashore. Locals use local materials such as sand and driftwood to create a swing. However, due to weather and safety considerations, the swing is only set up by the seaside in summer. With the blue sky and sea stretching to the horizon, rolling waves crash with the sound of surf, and on good weather days, Turtle Island can be clearly seen in the distance.

3.Black House Café
 
Nestled in Yilan’s expansive fields, Black House Café resembles a stylish castle in Taipei’s backyard. Outdoors, there is a swing facing vast farmland—perfectly serene. Aside from the café, Black House also operates as a homestay. Its entirely black exterior and large, heavy barn doors blend American industrial style with French elegance, showcasing an alternative design aesthetic in accommodation.

4.Shalu Dream Street
 
The IG-famous Shalu Dream Street spans 700 ping and features photogenic spots including angel wing murals, container bars, colorful basketball courts, and a cool basketball wall. Among them, the biggest hit is the giant heart-shaped swing, which attracts not only female visitors but also adventurous guys.
