International Olympic Day, Goodyear loves "sports" too
On June 23, 1894, the International Olympic Committee was officially established in Paris. To commemorate this historic day, and with the approval of the International Olympic Committee, this date is known as Olympic Day or Sports Day. Since 1948, the International Olympic Committee has designated June 23 of each year as International Olympic Day. On that first June 23, the inaugural Olympic Day event was held, with participating countries including Portugal, Greece, Austria, Canada, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Uruguay, Venezuela, and Belgium.
Since then, between June 17 and 24 each year, National Olympic Committees around the world organize various celebratory events. The number of participating countries and regions has grown from the initial nine to over 100, with enthusiastic participation reflecting people’s admiration for the Olympic spirit.
Although many young people dream of competing in the Olympics as they grow up, in reality only a very small number get the chance to compete on the world’s biggest sporting stage. However, "Olympic Day" offers everyone around the world the opportunity to personally experience the magical power of Olympic values.
As a global leading tire manufacturer, Goodyear also has its own "Olympic spirit." Goodyear places great importance on consumers' life experiences, inspiring them to embrace an optimistic, confident, and passionate attitude toward life. Passion, joy, optimism, confidence... These are all qualities Goodyear attributes to its users, which align perfectly with the traits of sports fans. Therefore, through such sponsorships, Goodyear brings more consumers the chance to enjoy an exhilarating lifestyle.
When people think of Goodyear, many first picture an American tire brand, but it also has another identity — a passionate supporter of sports.
In China: From the Beijing Online Marathon to the Shanghai Half Marathon, Goodyear is always there.
In the realm of running, Goodyear also sponsors the local half marathon in its headquarters city of Akron, Ohio, USA.
F1 Racing: Goodyear holds the record for 350 F1 championship wins, a feat yet to be surpassed. Goodyear has also been partnered with NASCAR in the U.S. for over 60 years, and in the Asia-Pacific region — including Australia, Malaysia, New Zealand, and others — Goodyear sponsors a variety of racing events.
Starting in 2016, Goodyear also became a Platinum Partner of FC Bayern Munich, a club in Germany’s Bundesliga.
Recently, Goodyear announced its collaboration with its Ohio neighbor — the Cleveland Cavaliers. It seems Goodyear is blooming across the sports world.
Of course, Goodyear doesn’t hold back when it comes to making tires, and sometimes even develops and upgrades tires specifically for racing competitions to enhance performance — like the Goodyear Eagle F1, which was developed based on F1 racing. You can imagine how high-performance it is.
The Eagle F1 series can be found on a wide range of luxury sedans and sports cars, whether it's the Porsche 911, Boxster, or Ferrari California. Whether on the track or off, Goodyear is the ultimate all-around winner in the hearts of speed enthusiasts. Isn't this F1-authorized "sports" tire something you’d want to try?
