Qixi Love Lanterns on the Magpie Bridge & Must-Photograph Spots on the Bagua Mountain Skywalk

Qixi Valentine’s Day in 2019 is approaching on August 7. To break the breakup curse of the Bagua Mountain Giant Buddha Scenic Area, the Changhua City Government has transformed the Bagua Mountain Skywalk into Taiwan’s longest Happiness Magpie Bridge, decorating it with beautiful light displays—a must-visit for couples looking to take romantic photos.

The Bagua Mountain Skywalk will be lit from the 22nd until early August. Every evening from 6:30 PM to 10:00 PM, dazzling lights illuminate the skywalk, with intricate light sculptures creating a magical night scene and a joyful, romantic atmosphere.

Designed by a creative team from National Changhua University of Education, incorporating popular elements of light art, the bridge captures the essence of a Qixi lovers’ meeting spot. Multiple illuminated landscape installations have been set up, including Cinderella’s glass slipper, providing plenty of photogenic spots to make your Valentine’s Day truly memorable.

In addition, the Changhua City Government has planned a series of activities, including matchmaking events for singles, a local farmers’ market, and in the evenings, not only the Happiness Magpie Bridge and the Galaxy Light Sculpture but also the Guashan Sunset Concert, making Bagua Mountain not just a place of romance and happiness, but also extra lively.
