Bumpy roads go viral too: Top 3 wave-like roads every photography lover must chase

Recently, a “wave-like road” appeared in Keelung. So popular that you can see many photography enthusiasts gathering on the street with their big lenses. An ordinary street has become the latest hotspot for photos. And Taiwan has quite a few roads that, due to their uneven surfaces, have become popular photography spots.

Keelung Wave-like Road
The recently viral wave-like road is located in Daging Dacheng Community, Lane 168, Zhonghe Road, Keelung. It was originally just an ordinary sloped road, but when vehicles pass by, the surface creates undulations like ocean waves, making passing vehicles seem as if they are floating on waves. To capture the distinct wave effect, it’s recommended to use a telephoto lens of 300mm or more, with a focal length of 250mm or above.

Blue Highway
Located on the southwestern slope of Dajiaoshan Mountain in Taichung, South China Road features a straight sloped highway where the road surface also appears to undulate like waves. The sides of the road are lined with unique sapphire-blue street lamps, set against the sparkling sea of lights in the valley below, reflecting a distinctive nighttime scene. It’s a hidden gem among locals in Taichung, attracting not only night riders but also many photography enthusiasts coming to pay homage.

Tanyayeshen Greenway
Different from the previous two spots with up-and-down waves, the Tanyayeshen Greenway is most famous for its winding, snake-like curves from side to side. It’s a bicycle-only path reconstructed from the former Taiwan Railways Taichung-Shenkang Line. Lined with green trees on both sides, leisurely cycling here with the breeze under the shade offers not only a great weekend spot for exercise and relaxation, but also a favorite for photos.
