Must-visit summer cooling spots: Six trails perfect for getting close to water

The "Guizikeng Hiking Trail" in Beitou District features the Guizikeng Stream and Shuimo Pit Stream along the way. The trail connects to the "Guizikeng Camping Site," and is surrounded by mountain springs, green valleys, and lush old trees, making it an excellent summer retreat in the Beitou area. Visitors can also explore the Shibaguai Channel to enjoy the mountain scenery and learn about the cultural history and background of the irrigation channels.

In Beitou District, there’s another water-friendly trail: the "Shuiche Liao Hiking Trail" in Zhuzihu. Nestled within a shaded forest and following the course of Donghu Stream, this gently sloping trail is a hidden gem for cooling off in Zhuzihu.  

Additionally, the "Pingding Ancient Channel Hiking Trail" in Shilin District is a historically rich trail with a simple, rustic charm. The entire route is easy to walk and is accompanied by the Pingding Ancient Channel, Pingding New Channel, and Dengfeng Channel. As you walk along, you’ll be greeted by shaded woods and the sound of flowing water, creating a refreshing and invigorating experience. It's a great choice for hiking, staying fit, and cooling off during the hot summer months！

Besides water channel trails, you’re welcome to visit the "Yuanchue Temple Trail" and "Dagou Stream Riverside Trail" in Neihu District. At the entrance to the Dagou Stream Riverside Trail at Lane 243 on Dayu Shanzyue Street, you’ll be greeted by a stretch of green space set against the blue sky.
