The Notre-Dame Mountain Villa National Trail in Jiaoxi, Yilan, has its entrance at the Wufeng Waterfall. With an elevation drop of about 700 meters, it’s slightly challenging. After reaching the summit with your dad, the view is absolutely rewarding—you’ll enjoy an unobstructed 360-degree panorama. Not only can you see the entire Lanyang Plain, but looking toward Pinglin in the back, you’ll also spot layered mountain peaks resembling an ink-wash landscape painting. The scenery is picturesque and utterly captivating.

Bitou Cape Trail
 
Northern Taiwan’s coastline, nestled between mountains and sea, features many trails offering sweeping mountain and sea vistas. The Bitou Cape Trail provides a panoramic view of both the Northern Coast’s seascapes and ridgelines, making it a perfect choice for a day out with Dad. The trail feels like walking along the mountain ridge, stretches approximately 3.5 kilometers, and takes about 2 to 3 hours to complete on foot. You’ll take in the full beauty of the Northeast Coast, with its gentle path and the soft sea breeze brushing against you. The scenery before your eyes resembles a postcard—absolutely stunning.
