Yilan experienced intensity level 6 shaking. Areas including Taipei, New Taipei, Hualien, Hsinchu, Taoyuan, and Taichung felt intensity level 4. Nantou, Keelung, Miaoli, Hsinchu, Changhua, and Yunlin felt level 3. Chiayi City and County, Tainan felt level 2. Taitung, Kaohsiung, Yilan, and Penghu felt level 1. Disaster and casualty situations are still being assessed.
Update:
Due to track damage, TRA services between Yilan and Nan’ao have been suspended. Normal service is expected to resume after 8:00 AM once confirmed.
Taipei Metro and Taoyuan Airport MRT resumed normal operations at 6:00 AM after inspection.
THSR is currently conducting track inspections.
Power outages occurred in multiple households in Taipei, New Taipei, and Yilan. There were also gas leaks and road surface uplifts in Taichung.
Yilan has activated its Level 1 Earthquake Emergency Response Center.
