To celebrate the 50th anniversary of human moon landing, Snoopy takes fans from the moon to space adventures!/ The U.S. Peanuts-authorized “50th Anniversary of Human Moon Landing”—Snoopy Kaohsiung City Adventure, kicks off now and runs until August 31 in Kaohsiung.

In 1969, Snoopy hosted a send-off event for NASA astronauts as a full dress rehearsal—Apollo 10—for the official Apollo 11 moon landing. During the mission, the Apollo 10 command module was named “Charlie Brown,” and the lunar module was called the “Snoopy” module!/ Since then, Snoopy has officially become the mascot symbolizing safety promotion for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). In 2018, NASA released a new space protocol recruiting characters from the Peanuts comics to build brand image and promote science, engineering, technology, and mathematics.

As Asia’s first stop, Kaohsiung commemorates the historic moon landing by Armstrong on July 20, 1969, with the pioneering concept of a Snoopy “moon landing space-themed city.” “Snoopy and space elements” are scattered throughout the city, resembling a massive “carnival” or a grand “stage play,” commemorating the historical traces of the moon landing.

This event is divided into two modes: the more flexible “SNOOPY City Adventure Mini Tour,” which you can enjoy anytime during August; and the special “SNOOPY City Adventure,” a one-day city exploration event held on July 20, the 50th anniversary of human moon landing.

During the event, with the Snoopy Adventure Card and Mini Tour Handbook, you can not only explore major commercial areas and attractions but also enjoy discounts on public transportation such as the MRT, light rail, buses, and the Qijin ferry. You can also join the stamp-collecting activity. After completing designated stamp tasks, you can exchange for limited-edition, highly collectible Snoopy souvenirs—available only as gifts, not for sale!/ Additionally, those who pre-order the City Adventure Mini Tour can create a Snoopy space-themed military dog tag.
