The nation’s longest aerial walkway, the Dragon Phoenix Waterfall Skywalk, is designed based on the model of the Grand Canyon Skywalk. This transparent, suspension-free U-shaped walkway is over 30 meters long, extends 13 meters above the waterfall, and stands approximately 40–50 meters above the ground. It was constructed using ground anchor and pile-driving techniques, making it the longest aerial walkway in the country. Visitors can enjoy a bird’s-eye view of the majestic waterfall.

Covering an area of about 3,000 square meters, this chessboard-like stone slab is a spectacular sight located to the south of Hexing Village in Zhongliao Township. Originally a rectangular lowland valley in Xian Dongping Gully, Chessboard Rock was transformed by crustal movements and years of rain erosion. The once-intact large stone slab was cracked by natural forces into individual slabs, with gaps between them forming crisscrossing lines—thus creating this marvelously crafted chessboard-like landscape.

Cinnamon trees are one of Taiwan’s five precious tree species. The Zhongliao area is home to 88 giant cinnamon trees, all planted during the Japanese colonial period and estimated to be around 100 years old. About 2 kilometers from the entrance of the Dragon Phoenix Waterfall, there is a cluster of dozens of cinnamon trees over 70 years old. The area is rich in native plants and retains a pristine charm.

The Longxing Suspension Bridge has existed for over 100 years. Originally a bamboo footbridge, it served as the essential route for villagers to transport sugarcane during the Japanese colonial period. After being washed away by floods twice, the current steel cable suspension bridge was built on the original site. It is the first hollow-style suspension bridge in Asia, stretching 165 meters in length, and holds significant historical and tourism value.
