Here are nine of Taiwan’s most popular God of Wealth temples to ensure good fortune and prosperity all year long!

1.New Taipei Zhonghe Hōnglúdì
Zhonghe’s Hōnglúdì Nanshan Fude Temple features a 108-meter-tall statue of the God of Earth. Inside the main hall, there’s another two-meter-tall statue where visitors can touch the golden ingots, walking stick, and beard on the deity’s hand to pray for good luck. Additionally, it’s one of New Taipei’s top cherry blossom viewing spots, allowing visitors to seek wealth while enjoying the blossoms.

2.New Taipei Shiding Five Directions God of Wealth Temple
Besides praying for wealth-granting gold, Shiding Five Directions God of Wealth Temple also offers the unique “money water” ritual with Tiger God—visitors exchange their loose change for water blessed by the deity, though not in large amounts (e.g., you can’t trade one dollar for ten). The exchanged money is believed to bring a year of good fortune.

3.Yunlin Beigang Wude Temple
Yunlin’s Beigang Wude Temple is said to be Taiwan’s first-ever God of Wealth temple. Its interior is lavishly adorned and majestic, featuring a massive golden incense burner over forty feet tall, known as the “Heavenly Treasury,” which is truly spectacular. During the Lunar New Year, the temple also distributes limited-edition “Heavenly Official Bestows Blessings” red envelopes for visitors to take home for good luck.

4.Kaohsiung Lingya Guan Di Temple
At Kaohsiung’s Lingya Guan Di Temple, visitors can purchase gold foil from the temple and paste it onto the golden bull inside—different body parts carry different meanings. Additionally, the temple’s entrance features foreign-looking door gods, a fun and unique highlight.
