Recently, the popular outdoor food reality show "Flavour" completed filming for its New Zealand special in the Hawke’s Bay and Taupo regions on the North Island. As the only Southern Hemisphere location featured in this season, New Zealand boasts stunning natural wonders and a wide range of outdoor activities. The country’s world-renowned wines, seafood, and agricultural products are yet another gift from nature, making this pristine land a true culinary destination.

In the show, Flavour Holdings founder and celebrity Nicholas Tse, along with his star friend G.E.M., explored New Zealand’s cuisine while also experiencing the region’s abundant outdoor activities and rich cultural history. Nicholas Tse said, “This is my first time in New Zealand—it’s like a fairyland. In Hawke’s Bay and Taupo, I was pleasantly surprised on many levels, which gave me a deeper understanding of the country’s unique charm and relaxing lifestyle from multiple dimensions. There’s not only pristine natural scenery and fresh, diverse ingredients here, but most wonderfully, the people of New Zealand. I believe after the New Zealand special airs, everyone will share the same feelings as I do.”

Regarding this collaboration, Mr. Gregg Wafelbakker, General Manager of the Asia Pacific region at Tourism New Zealand, said, “‘Flavour’ is an extremely popular food reality show, and we are honoured to have facilitated this partnership. New Zealand is a country proud of its cuisine and passionate about its fine wines. The Hawke’s Bay and Taupo regions embody New Zealand’s natural ecology, wine and food culture, outdoor sports, and artistry. The filming took place during New Zealand’s spring, the perfect time to embrace nature and enjoy outdoor experiences. We hope that through the dual influence of the show and its celebrity participants, more Chinese tourists will consider off-peak travel to explore these two regions and experience the distinctive charm of New Zealand in both spring and autumn.”

Hawke’s Bay is one of New Zealand’s sunniest regions, earning it the reputation as the country’s “fruit bowl.” It is also one of New Zealand’s premier wine-producing areas, especially known for its red wines that attract wine enthusiasts from far and wide. Taupo, on the other hand, is famed for Lake Taupo, a stunning lake that resembles an inland sea and is comparable in size to Singapore. Whether on the lake, by its shores, or above it, there are a wealth of outdoor recreational activities, such as the Tongariro Alpine Crossing, jet boating, skydiving, and geothermal hot springs. With its breathtaking lake and mountain scenery, it has become a picturesque haven for outdoor sports.

In the show, New Zealand’s iconic celebrity chef Al Brown challenges Nicholas Tse to a cook-off. To find out whether Nicholas Tse can win the challenge, stay tuned for the New Zealand episode of "Flavour," premiering in early 2018 on Youku.
