Hong Kong's Anti-Extradition Pro

This “anti-extradition” protest movement has evolved into a call for the “liberation of Hong Kong,” while another segment of the population includes Hong Kong people who support the Hong Kong police. The incident continues to draw high attention from both Hong Kong residents in Taiwan and local Taiwanese.

The Lennon Wall event in Taipei was initially launched by the Hong Kong student group “Hong Kong Frontier Youth,” who set up multiple Lennon Walls around Taipei to show support for Hong Kong. Later, with the help of ten cross-party Taipei city councilors, they legally applied for permission to use the space in the underground passage in front of NTU. Once the news spread, many Taiwanese who support the anti-extradition movement also came to the tunnel one after another, writing messages of support for Hong Kong on sticky notes and posting them on the wall.

In addition to the dense collection of sticky notes expressing support for Hong Kong, the walls also display handwritten notes such as “A Timeline of the Anti-Extradition Events” and various graphic messages about the alleged brutal crackdown in Hong Kong. Sticky notes and pens are also provided on-site, allowing visitors to share their support and well-wishes for Hong Kong.
