The globally popular mobile game Pokémon GO has partnered with New Taipei City this year to host the only “Pokémon GO Safari Zone” in Taiwan. From October 3 to 6 over four days, rarely seen Pokémon in Taiwan will appear at the New Taipei Metropolitan Park, and the super-popular Pikachu will also make an appearance for live performances — trainers must not miss it.

During the event period from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM daily, the New Taipei Metropolitan Park will not only feature various adorable Pokémon but also offer opportunities to catch Butterfree, Heracross, Bellsprout, Unown, Marill, as well as Scyther, Vespiquen, and other rare Water-, Grass-, and Bug-type Pokémon.

In addition to the main venue at the metropolitan park, 60 popular spots across New Taipei City including Shen’ao Fishing Port, Shuishe Cave, Bitan Scenic Area, Danlan Ancient Trail, Wulai Waterfall, Sanchong Air Force One Village, and Zhonghe Hulongdi will also feature rarely seen Pokémon. While catching Pokémon, explore the city’s top attractions.

Spanning over 50 hectares, the New Taipei Metropolitan Park can accommodate tens of thousands of participants simultaneously. The park is equipped with various recreational facilities and is conveniently accessible via multiple city bus routes and two different MRT lines.

As the first international-scale event held at the New Taipei Metropolitan Park, it aims to let Pokémon players fully enjoy the spacious main venue. Additionally, local businesses in New Taipei City will offer special deals on accommodations and souvenirs, allowing both domestic and international visitors to explore more of Taiwan’s scenic highlights on foot while catching rare Pokémon.
