The chive blossom sea in Zhongxinli, Dazhi, Taoyuan is quite famous, attracting more and more tourists each year. Zhongxinli is the largest specialized chive-growing area in the country, with about 70 hectares under cultivation. The local soil is fertile and highly suitable for growing chives, which is why chives from Zhongxinli are especially rich in flavor and have an excellent texture.

Local activities include a tax promotion event, scheduled for Saturday, August 31, 2019, starting at 7:30 AM. On that day, those who present cloud invoices from July to August 2019 without printed paper receipts (transactions over NT$10) at the site can exchange them for gifts. Each person can redeem one item per visit, while stocks last. Please act quickly: 5 cloud invoices can be exchanged for one eco-friendly heat-resistant absorbent coaster, 10 cloud invoices for one Flying Wolf leisure sports backpack, and 20 cloud invoices for one iTaoyuan hand warmer pillow.

In the 2019 chive blossom season, the “Long Time No See, Chive Health Walk” was also launched. The event took place at the landscape mound of Zhongzhuang Regulation Reservoir, on August 31. Registration was available both online and on-site, with a limit of 1,500 participants. Sign-ups were open until filled, starting immediately.

The snow-white chive blossom fields under the blue sky and white clouds look delicate and fresh up close, yet majestic and romantic from afar. To witness this beautiful chive blossom sea, visitors can drive along Provincial Highway 4 toward Dazhi Wuling Bridge, then turn left just before the bridge onto Taipei Taoyuan Route 83, heading in the direction of Yingge, where patches of pristine white chive blossoms will gradually come into view. The blooming period lasts from late August to the end of September or early October, with mid-September being the best time to see them. Flower lovers should plan ahead and make the most of the season.
