Huge Spring Festival couplets and lanterns make for amazing photoshoots—four exotic Chinatown-themed scenes!

GLORIA OUTLETS Hwatai Premium Outlets' Spring Festival event, "Hwatai Chinatown," officially opens on January 17th for a 44-day period. The four exotic-themed squares are adorned with festive decorations, giant couplets, and colorful hanging lanterns. There's also an authentic Chinatown-style New Year parade, and over 285 brands in the area are offering discounts starting from as low as 20% off.

This year, Hwatai Premium Outlets centers its celebration around the theme “Prosperity in the Year of the Rat—Celebrate the New Year with a Golden Rat Stroll.” The first square transforms into New York’s Chinatown, where a giant gold ingot and golden lanterns surround a pink Statue of Liberty wearing a Chinese God of Wealth hat and holding red envelopes. In front of the pink Eiffel Tower at the second plaza, golden lanterns hang above a vibrant floral display.

At the Roman Plaza in Phase II, the concept “Golden Rats Celebrate Spring, Silver Rats Bring Wealth” comes to life, with adorable golden rats leaping onto a 3D “Spring” character in the fountain, accompanied by bursts of colorful water displays. The third plaza features not only a giant firecracker maze but also a double-decker British bus covered in New Year greetings. The Big Ben replica is accented with red and gold lanterns, creating a lively, East-meets-West festive atmosphere.

Additionally, seven 3-meter-tall giant couplets are set up along Avenues 1 to 7. Take a photo with any two of the auspicious characters—“迎 (Welcome), 春 (Spring), 纳 (Receive), 福 (Blessing), 喜 (Joy), 臨 (Arrive), 門 (Door)”—and upload it to redeem a daily limited-edition lucky cookie.

From the first to the fifth day of the Lunar New Year, starting at 2 PM each day, the “Hwatai Chinatown · New Year Parade” will be held in the park. A 6-meter-long golden dragon will weave through the outlets, alongside spectacular lion dance performances and the God of Wealth handing out 900 limited-edition “lucky money” packets and candy each day.
