In troubled times, there are bound to be rebels. Best buds Tang and Javi think they’re the coolest guys around, strutting down the post-apocalyptic streets like they own the place. One day, they stumble upon an unfinished script and, to their shock, realize they’re actually the characters in it—their misdeeds and dumb lines play out exactly as written, and their roles are small, with an early exit on the horizon. Convinced they’re not meant to die yet, they track down the scriptwriter—a dentist and amateur screenwriting enthusiast. But he’s already written several more plot twists. The duo must see the story through to the end while being hunted by all sorts of dangerous characters, all the while scrambling to find time to force the dentist to rewrite the ending... Why is life so hard?!

Twelve-year-old sixth grader Max (Jacob Tremblay of “Room”) is invited to his first make-out party and almost backs out because he doesn’t know how to French kiss—let alone kiss a girl. To learn the ropes, Max and his two best friends, Saul (Brady Noon of HBO’s “Boardwalk Empire”) and Lucas (Keith L. Williams of “The Last Man on Earth”), decide to use Max’s dad’s forbidden drone to spy on a teenage couple making out next door.
But when things go terribly wrong and Max’s beloved drone is destroyed, the three sixth graders skip school to find a replacement before his dad gets home, setting off an action-packed adventure. Their bad decisions lead them to accidentally steal drugs, play paintball with a group of frat brothers, and flee from cops and two terrifying teenage girls (played by Molly Gordon of “Life of the Party” and Midori Francis of “Ocean’s 8”).

Today, let’s conquer with a bento box!

Living on Hachijojima Island in Japan, single mother Kaori (played by Kawahara Ryoko) has two daughters. Her younger daughter, Futaba (played by Yoshine Kyoko), is a rebellious high schooler who drives her crazy—communication is only possible through text messages. But Kaori is no pushover either—who says a mother’s homemade bento has to be made with love? A bento filled with intense resentment can be even more delicious and visually stunning!
Kaori decides to take on her daughter through bento boxes—everything she can’t say out loud, she’ll express through food instead. The spectacular “character bento” features everything from vengeful Sadako to comedians, while various ingredients are used to spell out heartfelt messages. This strategy not only makes Futaba’s bento the talk of the school but also rockets Kaori’s bento blog to viral fame. Bento is a weapon—to win your stomach and heal your heart.
