The rise of delivery business opportunities!According to the latest food and beverage sales statistics from the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Taiwan’s food delivery market exceeds NT$23.7 billion. It is not only gradually becoming a new choice for consumers but also expanding how brands reach their customers.

FamilyMart convenience stores have targeted consumer demand and were the first in the industry to launch a store-to-home delivery service in Taipei last year. Observing high consumer acceptance, it has now officially partnered with the renowned food delivery brand Uber Eats to expand its delivery service coverage to the Taipei and New Taipei areas. Starting September 25, consumers can access the “FamilyMart Zone” through the Uber Eats app to select over a hundred products, including daily necessities, fresh food, coffee beverages, cookies and snacks. FamilyMart has also become the first retail business to join the Uber Eats platform.

According to surveys, one in every four people in Taiwan has used a food delivery service.

Reports indicate that one in every four people in Taiwan has used a food delivery service, with heavy users (those using it at least once a week) primarily located in the northern region. Therefore, the initial delivery range of the Uber Eats “FamilyMart Zone” is limited to the Taipei and New Taipei areas. Moreover, thanks to FamilyMart’s advantage of being open 24 hours and having a dense network of outlets, consumers can place orders via Uber Eats from 9:00 AM to 1:00 AM, meeting delivery needs for both breakfast and late-night snacks.

The Uber Eats app’s “FamilyMart Zone” features around a hundred carefully selected products, with the product mix changing every two weeks. Among them, there are about 30 fresh food items, including highly popular brunch combo deals, bb.q CHICKEN fried chicken sets, coffee and dessert pairings, and other fan favorites. Additionally, special meals such as Tianhe Fresh’s made-to-order bento boxes (e.g., seaweed fermented black bean pork bento, brined aged Chilean salmon bento) are not to be missed (note that some specialty items are not included in this partnership service). There are also about 70 general merchandise items, covering snacks, drinks, as well as everyday items such as cosmetics and toiletries. Each order incurs a service fee of NT$60, payable by cash, Apple Pay, or credit card.

Uber Eats’ tech-enabled ordering and pickup process helps store staff quickly select items.
