The date for Jinghua City's lights-out has been set – sold for NT$37.201 billion

Covering an area of about 5,000 pyeong, Jinghua City had an initial asking price of NT$38 billion when it went up for bidding in December 2018. Now, with news of the mall’s closure, this auction has successfully concluded.The 18-year-old era of Jinghua City Department Store is officially entering another phase, with its lights set to go out on November 30, 2019.

Although the Jinghua City website still displays information about its anniversary sale (September 12–30), it is expected that after the event, pre-closure auctions will begin. Gift vouchers for members and appreciation events are also still in the planning stages.

The news of Jinghua City’s lights-out also means that its around 120 employees will face layoffs, and over 200 associated tenant booths are set to end their partnerships and operations.
