Super South is Even More Taiwan Than Taiwan Itself！Five Must-See Attractions and a Design Exhibition

The “2019 Taiwan Design Exhibition” is being held in Pingtung County at the southernmost point of Taiwan, under the theme “Super South – Super Southern? Very Taiwan.” It brings Taiwan’s familiar “supermarket” to a 2,000-ping main exhibition space, creating the world’s largest and most Pingtung-flavored design supermarket. The exhibition runs from October 5 to October 20, with different zones spread across five distinct locations. Through design, it showcases various facets of Pingtung.

I.Main Exhibition Area – Taiwan Sugar County Citizens’ Park
The main exhibition area of the Taiwan Design Exhibition features a trolley installation artwork named “Super Vacation” by the Chu Chikang team. Just like a roller coaster in an amusement park, it brings joy and transforms the exhibition area into a passionate “Super South” design supermarket. Within the main exhibition area, there are also six major themes that showcase the most authentic flavors of Pingtung from multiple perspectives.

The six major themes of the main exhibition area include:
1. West Pingtung:This theme explores Pingtung’s characteristic industries, delving into Taiwan’s agricultural powerhouse through six hidden champion crops: lemons, pineapples, bananas, coffee, cocoa, and red quinoa.
2. Pingtung Energy: Centered around local sports events and athlete stories in Pingtung, this section expresses the energy and competitive achievements of Pingtung people, while also introducing the manufacturing process of high-quality Made-in-Taiwan sports products and creative lifestyle designs.
3. Made in Pingtung:This theme views Pingtung’s specialty products from the perspective of factory production, using a sensory experience approach to transform manufacturing into tourism. It presents three spaces: See Pingtung, From Pingtung, and Experience Pingtung. Through visits and interactive experiences, visitors can explore the world of tourist factories together.
