The official Pokémon event "Pokémon GO Safari Zone" was held daily from October 3 to October 6, from 10 AM to 5 PM, across New Taipei City. A 72-year-old Pokémon Uncle stunned everyone by showcasing his legendary 46-phone Pokémon hunting setup—truly amazing to see.

Danhai Light Rail’s official Facebook exclusively unveiled the “Pokémon Uncle” Chen Sanyuan’s legendary Pokémon hunting super vehicle, revealing for the first time to netizens the famed setup loaded with 46 phones. The 72-year-old Uncle Chen is not only incredibly fast and nimble in the video, but also has sharp eyesight that even left younger staff in awe.

On October 3, Danhai Light Rail invited internationally renowned pro gamer “Pokémon Uncle” to be among the first to experience the relaxed rhythm of Pokémon hunting on the light rail. This time, the uncle didn’t ride his Pokémon hunting bicycle, but instead took the Danhai Light Rail to catch Pokémon. In the footage, not only does Uncle Chen swiftly catch Pokémon, he also takes photos with several JiMi art installations, experiencing the joy of laid-back Pokémon hunting for the first time.

The Danhai Light Rail travels at a relatively slow pace and stretches 7.3 km in total—perfect for steady movement. Each rest stop along the line offers Poké Balls, and you can even hatch eggs. By riding back and forth on the train, the uncle effortlessly completed his tasks of restocking, catching Pokémon, and hatching eggs, happily exclaiming, “Danhai Light Rail, let’s catch Pokémon together!”

Organized by New Taipei City, in collaboration with the U.S.-based Niantic and Japan’s The Pokémon Company, Taiwan’s only official Pokémon event this year, "Pokémon GO Safari Zone," was held from October 3 to October 6, from 10 AM to 5 PM, across New Taipei City. A total of 60 Pokémon-catching spots were set up under themes including “Cultural History,” “Scenic Attractions,” “Transportation Hubs,” and “Old Streets & Shopping Districts”—all offering chances to catch rare Pokémon. Many Pokémon fans are gearing up to join this exciting event. Wanjing Park near Danhai Light Rail’s Tamsui Administrative Center Station (V07) and Public Park 7 next to Binhai Sha Station (V09) have also been selected as special sites where rare Pokémon may appear, with chances to encounter them over four consecutive days.
