Conquer sea of clouds and waterfalls in Fanlu Township — a super fun one-day town adventure

Fanlu Township is located in the eastern part of Chiayi. Formerly known as Fanluzai, this township was once the essential route from Zhuluo City to the Tsou tribe villages in Alishan, as well as an ancient path where Tsou people traveled to the city to trade goods. The area is covered with persimmon trees and is the top persimmon-producing region in the country. Bring your family for a stroll in Fanlu this weekend!

Originally a Taiwan Sugar Corporation farm, Chukou Nature Education Center has now become an ecological afforestation landscape and tree transplant relay station. Managed by the Chiayi Forest District Office, the Tree Bank and Forest Ecology Park receive old trees of commemorative value from various institutions to be transplanted here instead of being cut down. It provides placement space for old or rare tree species while achieving the goal of greening the park and ensuring sustainable management.

Located at Ziyun Temple Park in Bantianyan, Fanlu Township, Chiayi, there is an 80-meter-long roller slide. Bantianyan Ziyun Temple is a Grade 3 historical site in Chiayi County. The slide is covered, so it can be enjoyed even on rainy days.

Fairy Well Waterfall is located in the Xikeng Scenic Area, which offers an extremely broad view, including the scenery of the Zengwen Reservoir and one-fourth of Taiwan’s mountain ranges. In autumn and winter, due to low air pressure, cloud waterfalls, sea of clouds, sunsets, and colorful clouds are common sights.

Situated in Bantianyan Meiwang Parent-Child Camping Area in Fanlu Township, Chiayi, this spot is about a 30-minute drive from downtown Chiayi. Not only does it offer a wide, beautiful view and well-planned grounds, but it also features a huge expanse of lawn where both kids and adults can have fun. Moreover, the facilities are excellent, including five-star bathroom amenities. At night, the campsite manager even projects movies and cartoons for children. It’s a perfect camping choice for family trips.
