The "Fun Discovery Qiandao Lake" outdoor-themed event concluded successfully.

        When it comes to visiting Qiandao Lake, many people only know about boating, island-hopping, and eating fish head. In fact, there are plenty of other exciting outdoor activities to enjoy. This time, the hidden gems are finally being revealed.

On September 29, 2018, the “Fun Discovery · Qiandao Lake” outdoor-themed event, hosted by the Qiandao Lake tourism destination in Zhejiang, officially came to an end. Three professional outdoor KOLs, six travel influencers, two short video creators, and numerous outdoor enthusiasts gathered in the scenic Qiandao Lake to embark on an exciting outdoor journey.

The four-day, three-night event took place from the 26th to the 29th. Participants experienced a variety of outdoor activities including motorsports, cycling, stream trekking, ancient village orienteering, racing to the top of Sheling Ancient Trail, and high-altitude peak climbing.

On the afternoon of the 26th, participants headed to Qiandao Lake Motorsport Town to try out the challenging recreational activity of motorsports. “Roar—” With the deafening sound of engines in their ears, sand flying before their eyes, and pebbles spraying behind them, they rode mighty motorcycles across the undulating and unique terrain, experiencing an extraordinary rush of speed and adrenaline.

On the morning of the 27th, after breakfast, the participants traveled to the Shangjiangpu Service Area. Riding single or tandem bicycles, they pedaled joyfully along the lakeside greenway, with cool autumn breezes brushing past and the fragrance of wildflowers wafting into their noses. Gazing at the distant lake scenery, words can hardly describe the comfort and relaxation.

In the afternoon of the 27th, they arrived at Qiandao Lake Grand Canyon to experience stream trekking. Going against the current, the canyon features steep cliffs, mountain waterfalls, streams, and pebble beaches. The breathtaking scenery was overwhelming, while the cool stream water beneath their feet gave urban dwellers a unique taste of nature’s vitality.

On the morning of the 28th, participants went to Guocun Village in Qiandao Lake to take part in a thrilling and fun orienteering competition. Divided into four groups, they searched for five checkpoints and completed five tasks—math puzzles, poetry fill-ins, charades, fun formations, and hula hoop spinning.

The difficulty levels of the various checkpoint tasks varied, combining mental and physical challenges. As they completed the tasks, time flew by unnoticed.

After the orienteering competition, they headed to Sheling Ancient Trail for a mountain-top speed race. Though not used to strenuous exercise, they persevered for the sake of their teams, despite feeling exhausted.

On the 29th, participants faced their ultimate challenge: conquering Jinzijian Peak, which stands over 1,400 meters above sea level. They started the climb at 8 a.m. and reached the summit by 3 p.m. All participants successfully made it to the top, enjoying a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains.

Jinzijian Peak is covered with uniquely shaped pines and rugged rocks, truly earning its reputation as the “Yellow Mountain of Western Zhejiang.”

Wandering through lush green mountains and clear waters, engaging in sports amidst the wilderness, the “Fun Discovery · Qiandao Lake” outdoor-themed event left beautiful memories for all participants. It also helped bring Qiandao Lake’s outdoor resources to the public. The joy of outdoor experiences in Qiandao Lake will surely spread by word of mouth, making it a must-visit destination for outdoor enthusiasts.
